Reading Quiz Bowl Competition

Up to ten 4th and 5th graders participated in the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl this year. The competition took place on Saturday January 25th.  We also had a team for lower grades, 2nd and 3rd graders,  Their Quiz Bowl competition took place in March. We are proud of both teams! Mrs. Nordenhaug and Ms, Carrasquillo were the coaches of the teams. Our Media Specialist and two teachers volunteers supported us on both days. Our students read the books and practiced answering questions on the books using the website: https://quizlet.com/

Duke Tip Program

The Duke University Talent Identification Program is a nonprofit organization that supports academically talented students in grades four through twelve.

Through above-grade-level testing, enrichment resources, year-round learning options, residential summer programs, online courses, need-based financial aid, and original research into the needs of gifted students, we help support and nurture our students' talents.
